September 28, 2007

FT. Detrick, MD – Engineering Systems Solutions (ESS) announced today that it was awarded its first task order as part of a $3.8M multiple award, Firm-Fixed-Priced
(FFP) Indefinite Delivery / Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with the U.S. Department of the Army for the United States Army Medical Materiel Agency (USAMMA) at Fort Detrick, Maryland to assist the Army Medical Department (AMEDD) in support of its Army Campaign Plan (ACP) and Army Transformation Program.

The ACP and Army Transformation Program continue to significantly shape how the AMEDD and the USAMMA conduct its business to achieve mission success. Furthermore, because of the fluid and highly demanding nature of ACP and Army Transformation it is imperative that the USAMMA have the capacity to anticipate, respond, and satisfy these ever-increasing challenges. ESS will help the USAMMA augment its core skills and technologies, which center on conducting life cycle management for commercial and non-developmental items, sustaining and modernizing the medical force, supporting exercises and contingency operations, and promoting medical logistics information and knowledge. The first task order issued under this contract has ESS providing support at Tobyhanna Army Depot, PA; Hill Air Force Base, UT; and Sierra Army Depot, CA.

Teaming with ESS is Lockheed Martin Services, Inc., Oaks, PA. Lockheed Martin employs about 130,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture and integration of advanced technology systems, products and services. ESS and Lockheed have successfully partnered together in support the U.S. Air Force Pentagon Communications Agency (AFPCA), 844th Communications Squadron, and look to bring the same type of project success to the USAMMA AMEDD.
