ESS has expanded its efforts in support of the U.S. Department of the Army for the United States Army Medical Materiel Agency (USAMMA) Medical Maintenance Division at Tobyhanna Army Depot to deliver optimal support to America’s Warfighters. ESS assiststhe Army Medical Department (AMEDD) in support of its Army Campaign Plan (ACP) and Army Transformation Program, which continues to significantly shape how the AMEDD and the USAMMA conduct its business to achieve mission success. Furthermore, because of the fluid and highly demanding nature of ACP and Army Transformation it is imperative that the USAMMA have the capacity to anticipate, respond, and satisfy these ever-increasing challenges. Key examples of the USAMMA’s continuing, adaptable support are Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Homeland Defense, Army Set the Force, Medical Reengineering Initiative, Army Pre-positioned Stocks, and other centrally managed programs.
ESS will continue to help USAMMA augment its core skills and technologies, which center on conducting life cycle management for commercial and non-developmental items, sustaining and modernizing the medical force, supporting exercises and contingency operations, and promoting medical logistics information and knowledge.
In support of the Medical Maintenance Divisions (MMDs) located at Hill AFB (UT), Tobyhanna (PA) and Tracy (CA), ESS personnel plan, program, and coordinate materiel actions to ensure properly phased support in the construction and issue of medical assemblages. ESS personnel also provide a variety of other functions.
