Anand Nathan, Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy
Anand Nathan is the CFO and Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy for ESS and joined the company in January 2009. Prior to ESS, Anand spent 4 years as a Senior Associate at the large, New York City based, private equity firm Kohlberg, Kravis, and Roberts (KKR) in their Capstone Group.
At KKR, Anand worked with the senior management teams of the portfolio companies to improve their operations. For example, Anand worked directly with the COO of a $2B building materials company to identify and implement a number of initiatives including internal supply chain management, strategic sourcing, pricing, and OH/G&A cost reduction.
These initiatives delivered over $20M annually in additional operating profit while decreasing working capital requirements by over $30M. Prior to KKR, Anand spent three years as a Senior Associate Consultant at the management consulting firm Bain & Company in their London and Atlanta offices.
During his time at Bain, Anand worked directly with Fortune 1000 companies on key strategic initiatives and also spent time in Bain's prestigious Private Equity practice.
Anand graduated magna cum laude from Duke University with a B.S.E. in Electrical/Biomedical Engineering and a B.S. in Economics.
